Cooling Curve Analysis
Routine quality control is performed by ASTM D 6200 (or ISO 9950) for unagitated quench oils. The cooling characteristics of quenchants under agitated conditions are determined by either ASTM D 6482 (the Tensi Method) or ASTM D 6549 (the Drayton Method). Both analyses are performed using the so-called Wolfson Probe (12.5 mm dia x 60 mm INCONEL 600 cylindrical probe with a Type K thermocouple inserted to the geometric center).
Cooling curve analysies using other methodologies and probes can be performed upon request.
